Pediatric Vision

Early vision screening is an essential element in school readiness and overall child health.  Uncorrected vision problems can impair child development, interfere with learning, and lead to permanent vision loss.

The medical home is an important site for vision screening and referrals.

The Ohio AAP in partnership with Prevent Blindness Ohio and the Ohio Department of Health are committed to supporting primary care providers in staying up-to-date in evidence-based approaches to early vision screening and supporting practices in accessing vision specialty services for their patients.

We hope this website will provide access to helpful information and resources.
